The Trois-Rivières Military Museum is the museum of the 12e Régiment blindé du Canada (12 RBC). This Canadian Land Force unit, founded in 1871, has had many names, the best known of which are 86e Régiment de Trois-Rivières, 12th Canadian Armoured Regiment (12th CAR), Three Rivers Regiment (TRR) and Régiment de Trois-Rivières. During the Second World War, it fought in Sicily, Italy and the Netherlands and performed brilliantly during the battles of Adrano, Ortona, Termoli, Cassino, the Trasimene Line and the Liri Valley. Recently it has taken part in NATO missions in the war in Afghanistan.

The aim of the permanent exhibit at the Trois-Rivières Military Museum is to publicize and highlight Canadian and Trois-Rivières military history in general and the history of 12e Régiment blindé du Canada in particular. The exhibit primarily occupies the periphery of the armoury’s weapons room as well as the mezzanine and the Amiens Room. It comprises mainly collections of uniforms, equipment, bladed weapons and firearms used in the Canadian Forces during various eras, as well as displays featuring military families and celebrating the Regiment.
Off season (September to May): Reservation required. Depends on access to the armoury.
“86”: an exhibition on the origins of the Trois-Rivières Regiment on the 140th anniversary of its founding (March 24, 1871).
