November 2011 Valcartier Live fire exercise

On Saturday, November 26, 2011, members of the 6th Regiment of Artillery, the 62nd Field Artillery Regiment, the 2nd Field Artillery Regiment and members of the 5th light Artillery Regiment of Canada were deployed in the areas of Valcartier for a live fire exercise. Six 105 mm howitzers fired throughout the day for the reserved side, while the regular 5th Regiment used the M777, allowing members of the four regiments to do their job and to update their knowledge of artillery. The shooting took place Saturday morning and ended at 1900 hours. We then made some preparation for the Noble Warrior exercise Saturday night and throughout Sunday. The temperature was slightly rainy, but still very mild and it was very nice to be outside in the midst of a six battery pieces. It was a successful weekend and it was very useful on the professional side. This exercise will remain an excellent memory for the Gunners.
